Ik ben eens in m'n platenkast gedoken en heb een aantal lekkere singles gefilmd.
Het zijn toch wel de plaatjes die je vroeger hoorde bij Radio Veronica,en dit is ook een leuke manier om singles te horen (en te zien)
De Garrard MK II waar ik de meeste platen op draai is aangesloten op mijn Philips FX603A Radiogram uit 1950,waar een hele warme versterker in zit.Deze versterker zit weer aangesloten op mijn Alecto MX-790 mengpaneel uit de jaren 80,en die zit weer aangesloten op mijn PC.Deze 78 toerenplaat van Elvis draai ik ook op de Garrard MK II.
Het is meer sound of the 50's,maar deze plaat is zowiezo tijdloos:-)

With a suggestive style--one writer called him "Elvis the Pelvis"--a hit movie, Love Me Tender, and a string of gold records including "Heartbreak Hotel," "Blue Suede Shoes," "Hound Dog" and "Don't Be Cruel," Presley had become a national icon, and the world's first bona fide rock-and-roll star, by the end of 1956. As the Beatles' John Lennon once famously remarked: "Before Elvis, there was nothing." The following year, at the peak of his career, Presley received his draft notice for a two-year stint in the army. Fans sent tens of thousands of letters to the army asking for him to be spared, but Elvis would have none of it.
